The English Language Department was established in 1996, the year in which Alyarmok University College was founded, as one of the important departments of this college, which is recognized for the efficiency of its graduates and professors, and the department includes a distinguished group of teachers who hold a doctorate degree from Iraqi and international universities in various disciplines (language, literature and translation).

The English Department has produced an elite group of students who have occupied important positions in scientific, administrative and academic work. Some of them completed their master's and doctoral studies, while others are teaching in Iraqi schools.
